Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No problems at water crossings
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Four trees across the Nelson Crag Trail. Three were step overs and one a crouch under. The dwarf birch branches are covering the Nelson Crag Trail just downhill from Cragway spring. The sign at the intersection of Tuckerman Crossover and the Davis Path only provides information on the Davis Path, no mention of Tuckerman Crossover. Much of the Crawford Path has a pavement like surface from the trail restoration effort in recent years.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Some abrasive rock surfaces above tree line. The steep grades are usually not a problem for most dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: A lot of flying insects at the upper portions in Tuckerman Ravine.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: Not much mud. Some ephemeral waterways were dry. Many of the ledge surfaces on the Nelson Crag Trail below tree line were moss covered and moist.
There was a short stretch of snow at the upper floor of Tuckerman Ravine Trail. There was a snow arch off to the side of the Tuckerman Ravine Trail. Water falling off the headwall passed over the Tuckerman Ravine Trail.
Saw many wildflowers in bloom; Labrador Tea, Alpine Azalea, Mountain Avens, Mountain Sandwort, False Hellebore, Bunchberry, Alpine Bluet, and Bog Laurel. Did not see any Diapensia nor Lapland Rosebay.
Lots of hikers out on this nearly windless and mild day in the Alpine Zone. Many kids out ranging from 5 to 11 years old. Hikers from Yorkshire UK and Manchester UK and a woman originally from Slovakia.
