Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock hoppable
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Bad trail creep on Monroe Loop (many are stepping off the trail to go on a dirt area, which is undermining some of the adjacent rock work). Lots of failing rock work and drainage on Ammo, in part because the trail is not properly brushed (brush has covered up some stone work, pushing folks to the side, which is not often cribbed and therefore causing the steps to fail and erosion to accelerate).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Extended above treeline travel this time of year can cut pads - not recommended.
Bugs
Bugs: Minimal due to weather.

Comments
Comments: Ammo was wet this morning with the mist/light rain. Some scrambles were wet/slippery; would not have wanted to descend this way with today's conditions.

Camel Trail was lush and beautiful with avens and laurel in bloom.

Davis Path was slippery with the mist/fog, as was Westside. Unfortunately we encountered someone who insisted on walking on the alpine vegetation rather than the trail.

Cog Rail Trail was quite loose (a lot easier with some snow), but I still preferred it to descending the Ammo.

Foggy, misty day with some moderate gusts on Monroe Loop. Much warmer on the Cog Rail Trail once we made it below the fog around 4,000 feet in the early afternoon.
