I had a fine bushwhack up Greens Cliff for the NH200 highest from the SW, reaching ledges with fine wide views within an hour. About 1.5 hours to the summit, and 3 hrs round trip. After the easy moderate grades to the lower ledges, there is a big smooth cliff wall and some steep scrambling to get around it grabbing trees. Lots of spruce needles everywhere. The needles kept raining down on me too, which made my back itchy. It also rained lightly but that wasn’t a big deal, footing was good. The woods were moderately thick, not much hobblebush thankfully or pokey stuff, just those annoying dead needles that get all over your neck and back. It was a fun hike anyway and better than I expected. |
