 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All are currently rock hops. But why rock hop?! We splashed through all of them, in both directions, and my pup didn’t want to leave the final water crossing on the way back to the car. That water sure felt nice with these temperatures! |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Both trails are in pristine condition and I know, for a fact, that the Champney adopter (and his team) are 5 star. Looks terrific - thanks for the hard work!! |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
This is my pup’s second time via this route; it is a great route for dogs. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Oh. My. Stars. The wind definitely helped above treeline. Below treeline it was terrible. |

 | Comments: |
We hiked for Tuesday sunrise (which was spectacular!). There were at least two people on the true summit at 4:30am so we watched the show from a ledge just below the summit. On our way back down we passed only two other hikers. Though water levels are low the sideways ledges are more wet/slippery than I thought they would be so take care. Otherwise it is wicked fast footing right now! |
