Saw a few and they seemed happy. |

 | Bugs: |
Lots of bugs as expected this time of year. I forgot my repellent and got a dozen welts on my calves (wearing shorts) and stings even through my long sleeve Capilene Air. |

 | Comments: |
Absolutely perfect conditions. Fantastic views. Crowded Saturday.
I did the loop counterclockwise with road walk from Galehead to Garfield lot. Avoided the bushwhack shown on AllTrails to bypass road walk and glad I did.
Garfield Ridge Trail is a nasty piece of work. Steep ups and downs that go on and on interwoven with mud in the few flat sections. I’m up to #32 and I can’t recall a less pleasant trail. Budget extra time. |
