Comments
Comments: Decided against a car spot, so…a long day out and back from Starr King to Cabot and back. Rained 90% of the day.

Kilkenny ridge trail, between Waumbeck and Cabot is pretty grown in, rolling, some significant ups and downs. Did deal with a lot of blowdowns, got to hang out with a moose for a while. Enjoyable if I could have seen where I was walking, feel like earlier in the season this could have been runable, but felt like I’d sacrifice an ankle if I went too fast today. Ferns covered trail about waist high most of the ridge. I’m complaining, but it is really beautiful and feels like a Jurassic forest.

After reaching Cabot, I regretted having foregone the car spot. Out and back ended up being just shy of 30 miles and I was feeling it.
