Only a few mosquitoes and black flies all day, perhaps due in part to the wind, but no bites and I didn't have to apply bug dope. |

Most of this trail is a fairly new one, judging by the trail bed. It's been too long since I hiked this trail to remember the old route. The wind and the cloud cover made for perfect hiking conditions, except for for the lack of the beautiful views of Mt Washington from a ledge around 2380'. |
