Mt. Osceola Trail from Tripoli to Mt. Osceola is in dire need of brushing. Have a nice scratch on my eyelid to prove it. Lots of blowdowns and accumulating between the peaks. |

Tripoli Road was smooth sailing, thanks to overnight grooming.
Mt. Osceola Trail from Tripoli to Mt. Osceola wasn't broken out. Slow going, as the new snow was dense with a crust over the top. Generally 5-10" of new snow with some deeper drifts. Section is now broken out for snowshoe use, but not heavily packed. Snowshoes a must.
Between the peaks had been booted out and had some postholes. We kept our snowshoes on and use the Chimney Bypass Bypass (bushwhack to the left of the bypass going downhill). Chimney Bypass has snow and a little blue ice on it...some may like traction for it. Chimney has blue ice showing.
Heard the steeps up East Osceola were interesting. |
