The initial trail sign is missing (it hasn't been there for many, many years), and there is no signage at all (this one has been missing for a few years) at the crucial first right-hand turn off the muddy, eroded road (where Pike Hill Road becomes Class VI), 0.2 mi past the parking pull-off, after which the Camp Mowglis signs don't begin until after the stream crossing.
Always a rewarding little hike to the two viewpoints, but those who don't know where the trail begins and then abruptly turns into the woods (accurately described in AMC guide) could easily miss it. |
