busy day on Mt Cardigan but the weather was also excellent. Went up West Ridge trail to South Ridge Trail and hit Cardigan south peak then took a short detour down Hurricane Gap trail past Hi Cabin to where it intersects with Clark trail. then up clark trail to the top of cardigan, over to firescrew and then back down to the parking lot via west ridge. Trails were all in good condition other than spots of mud here and there but nothing that was too bad even for sneakers. not much smoke around either so the views were numerous and extensive. I enjoyed South ridge trail and the trail to Firescrew because they were much lower traffic than west ridge. |
