A nice revisit to Great Hill today. I hadn't been here in a while. The relocation of Betty Steele Loop Trail brings the path higher up on the slope and away from the riverbank. The old route has been marked with a closed sign at its upper end but not the lower end.
Views were still good from the fire tower but it's clear that the trees are slowly creeping up. The widest and most open view is south to the Ossipees.
99% dry trail with just a little bit of mud near the river crossing. A few other folks were out enjoying the day. |
