 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
York Pond bog bridges are still holding up well in spots, but in others they are just about done.
KRT is problematic right now. Once turning left onto the KRT at Williard Notch, there are a few blowdowns right away, and then things ease up, with a few exceptions, until descending North Weeks, that is where the fun begins. The rest of the KRT to South Weeks is riddled with more over-unders than a Vegas Casino or the Tour De France (shout out to those cyclists out there)!
From North Weeks to South Weeks it appears the trail is no longer being maintained. There are obvious herd paths around all the major blowdowns, creating it’s own trail in a way. The ascent of South Weeks is thick with prickers and overgrowth, along with the blowdowns. The descent of North Weeks to the col of Middle was probably the worst stretch of it all. |

 | Bugs: |
Yes. Black flies and gnats were constant the whole hike. Even had a deer fly dive bomb me at the parking lot on return. |

Picture perfect day to grab these peaks and the beautiful forest in this area. Outside of the bugs and the blowdowns, it was a wonderful day in the North Woods. |
