Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a brown hat with "Vermont 50" logo

Comments
Comments: Trail is broken out to the top of Mt Lafayette. 3 to 4 inches of new snow at lower elevations, deeper about 8 to 10 inches after hut. Some snow drifts were between 2 to 3 feet.

Above treeline no snow. All snow is wind swept with no drifts. We saw three hikers all day. There are some post-holes on the trail before the hut. One hiker had bare-booted about 30 yards behind us to the hut. He passed us during our lunch break at the hut so there are alot more post-holes in the trail and off to the sides between the hut and treeline. The two other hikers we met above treeline wore snowshoes. One hiker switched from snowshoes to crampons above treeline.

We found a brown hat on the way down with "Vermont 50" writing on it. I have it. Contact me at dletourneau@comcast.net, Nice hike with Jim C today.
