My dog had a super fun time running amok and giving some critters some cardio. I didn’t know groundhogs could run that fast. |

Friends, this spring is a tick-tastrophe. Has it ever been this bad?! It takes more than 24 hours of attachment to potentially get Lyme disease so in addition to all of the standard things (tuck your pants into your socks, shake out your clothes after your hike, consider chemical barriers), it’s the tick checks that will save you. Once or twice a day, check every inch of your skin. If you find one attached and you don’t know how long it has been there, call your doctor right away. For more information see cdc.gov/lyme. Ok, I am done with my day job (you guys know about my day job LOL) and I now return you to hiking information. :) |

I wasn’t sure how long the rain would hold off and just needed D so off we went. The left-most ski trail (Upper/Middle/Lower Polecat) has gotten a recent haircut, so it is easy walking. On the way back down the ski trails we bushwhacked over to Thompson Falls, which was running beautifully thanks to the all of the rain. We returned to the ski area lot via the Thompson Falls Trail. |
