The water crossing is still bridged but the path that we had been using is now gone. It is now much closer to the summer route. |

We were thrilled to find 4 inches of fresh snow had fallen overnight. The North Twin trail was in better shape then last week. We followed the river a bit farther on the Herd path to avoid the thin spots from Irene. Snow got deep with substantial drifts before the N Twin summit and on the way to South Twin. So much snow on the way to the hut, we were unable to butt-slide. Frost trail well broken out. Lower section of Gale River Trail was still scratchy. Dirt on Gale River road and Beaver Brook XC ski trails was covered! Thanks to Sarah and Hannah for a fantastic day. |
