Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: 1st water crossing going out was easy rock hop and small log traverse. 2nd was the most difficult. Flow was strong and I rock hopped to the halfway point then a slow gingerly traverse of 2 thin logs barely above whitewater rapids. The 3rd and final crossing was easily traversed with rock hopping and minimal boot submersion. Exiting was the same but I opted to don my sandals on the 2nd water crossing and wade through rather than risk the sketchy log crossing. Plus the cool water felt good in the warm afternoon temps.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blowdowns on the BP whack, and Brutus Bushwhack and more blowdowns on the Owls Head trail above Brutus Boulder and Ridge to the summit. I wish I brought my saw!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No pups today. The 2nd water crossing might be a bit much as it's pretty spirited.
Bugs
Bugs: Lower part of the Lincoln Brook Trail and most of the BP whack was quite buggy and they were biting so I used bug dope here. They weren't bad elsewhere and Lincoln Woods Trail was mostly free of bugs but they're definitely getting stronger and more active. Bug dope highly recommended!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing

Comments
Comments: We carried spikes but definitely not needed! Only snow is at the ridge and mostly in small patches. One 20' section is still pretty deep but soft and on a flat section. Blowdowns are not a big factor but a minor irritant. Water crossings are spirited but passable although with rain in the forecast, that could change. Water shoes, sandals or Crocs are helpful.
