Comments
Comments: Yeah, I know I'm a day late, but this info may be useful to someone. Came here because we were looking for flowers, moving water, and getting back to Lawrence for a 6 PM commitment. Didn't even need to leave the parking lot for the first. Many, many painted trillium in the woods surrounding the parking lot. Many bluets near the outhouse. A good variety of spring flowers both sides of the Livermore Trail. Hobblebush, too. And a few Red Trillium. Turned onto the logging road and then the Cascade Path. Signs made it look like the Cascade path is on both sides of the brook. We went down the right side, which was blazed but faded out. We could see a logging road through the trees. Shortly after joining it, it came to the Norway Rapid Trail.

And here's where it gets interesting. I had been on this trail a few years back and remembered it going uphill, where it would eventually join Boulder Path. But it seemed like it was heading too far away from the parking lot, so I decided to take Norway Rapids Trail back to Livermore instead. It was less than .5 miles and we would be there in no time. And that's when I heard the rushing water and realized I had forgotten about the Rapids crossing. We debated many places to cross, just didn't feel safe. Finally found one where a large boulder stretched about a third of the way across, and the remaining water (although it had a very strong current) was shallow enough and no white water. Prema took her boots off, I didn't. We made it across without any issues (obviously, dead women don't write trail reports). Fun day!
