 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lots of room today at Nineteen Mile Trailhead. We spotted a car at South Imp Trailhead…much less parking area there (maybe for 3 cars) |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All the Nineteen Mile Brook crossings were high, but still rock-hoppable (although would recommend waterproof boots) |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
So many blowdowns, mostly on North Carter, Carter-Moriah Trail. We took a trail saw to some smaller ones, lifted some larger ones off the trail, but the big ones required some gymnastics—think pommel horse. |

 | Bugs: |
None that we noticed, fortunately. |

 | Comments: |
A glorious spring hiking day! Trails were a bit wet, but not all that muddy. The 4-5 small sections of surprisingly stable monorail (mostly before the summit of Middle Carter and between Middle and South) were easy to bare-boot, as they were all heavily covered with pine leaves. Saw only 4 other hikers on the trail. Trillium blooming and fiddleheads sprouting all along the lower part of Nineteen Mile Brook Trail. |
