 | Comments: |
We tried to find a route up the Mittersill slopes that didn't have too much very steep pitches. We would up going up the Taft slope, and were very glad when we were up at the top of the T-bar (is there such a thing as hiking boots with televators?). The Saddle Trail had one stretch perhaps 250 ft or more of side to side snow, which we barebooted. That last stretch of Saddle going up to the top of the lift also is quite steep. Coming down, we took the intermediate rated (aka "More Difficult") trails, which we found mostly smooth going, except in some stretches with a lot of loose rock. Still, we set a record for ourselves - 1:05 for the descent to the cars. |
