Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Very heavy flow from recent rain. Lowest Avalon Water Crossing has a convenient blow-down wedged across 1/2 the brook so its moderately easy to balance & cross. Upper Avalon Water Crossing is a bit more challenging, if you aren't comfortable jumping off a large rock to hopefully land on a partially submerged rock and then continue jumping across while you have momentum, it might be best to wait for the water flow to ease up
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Minor blowdowns, mostly able to go over/under. 1-2 on Willey ridge that require short bushwacks (lots of tracks to follow)

Comments
Comments: The loop is able to be bare-booted. There is either solid monorail, melted out completely or partially melted where you can easily walk on the edge of the trail. We put on spikes for the top ~1/4 mile on Avalon where the monorail was solid and covered the entire trail, but steep enough that could slide if not careful. Besides that, spikes went for a ride
