 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Despite the weather the last few days, the trails were in surprisingly good shape. There was mud and running water at points, but also some stretches of dry trail. As Carl mentioned a week ago, the Mount Osceola Trail from Mount Osceola to the Tripoli trailhead has many blowdowns. Most, aside from one, are on the smaller side. I moved what I could however I did not bring a saw with me. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
|
|
 | Bugs: |
NONE! Not a one. Major note: the weather played a key part, windy and temps in the 40s. Midweek I had done a hike and was inhaling mosquitoes. |

Beautiful morning, might not get many mid-May hikes like this. Wet in places as expected, but overall OK. Some small patches of snow and ice around and above 4000, but barring something crazy, traction is no longer needed here. The Chimney was wet, but able to be ascended as intended (no bypass of the bypass of the bypass of the bypass ;)
The angry clouds lifted by the time I made it to the ridge between the peaks, and had the typical beautiful views from Osceola. Temperatures were in the 40s to low 50s, breezy winds kept any possibility of bugs 100% at bay. Nice to walk Tripoli before it opens! |
