Beautiful hike with lots of interesting sights: many, many Squam Lake views; a nice view north to the Sandwich Range from Crawford-Ridgepole Trail; wildflowers; and the Percival rock caves.
I was expecting more mud from all the recent rain, but the trails are mostly in good shape. There was one very wet section on Crawford-Ridgepole between Doublehead and Mt. Squam. Otherwise, mud and water are avoidable.
There's still a trace of snow in the Percival caves, but the cave route was mostly dry and lots of fun. |
