Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: rock hops or bridges (not the snow kind)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of blow downs mostly above 4000'. Many have been cleared, but there are a lot of newer small stuff on the trail. One person said that they were not present a few days ago. They are not hard to get around, most can be stepped/walked over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great trail for pups; fairly gradual, no large boulders, etc. Tons of running water to quench a pups thirst and for cooling off. But, expect a muddy pup by the end of the hike 'cause they never seem to avoid the muddy part of the trail. Only saw one friendly pup out today, sporting the usual orange vest.
Bugs
Bugs: N/A

Comments
Comments: The summit was in the clouds, and not predicted rains started at around 1, but that didn't deter everyone from getting in hike today. Only dry trail was at the start and the final above treeline heading to the summit. All else was wet, in standing/running water or on the monorail. Patchy stable monorail started low (3600'), but increased in length and depth with elevation. Everyone was bare booting the whole way since it was patchy, although spikes may be helpful on some sections when descending. For the most part, the monorail was also supportive; staying on was the challenge. Some spots were just inches thick, but everyone seemed to be doing OK. That said, there was quite a bit of traffic so it may start to deteriorate.

Great meeting Waumbek at the summit and chatting about his incredible hiking experiences. Also good to see Cheryl again as she is working through the grid.
