 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossing at 1 mile in, is flowing good but rock hoppable staying to the left going up. The bigger water issue is at a mile and a half in, the trail is a stream literally. A section of the stream on the left has been diverted onto the trail for about 100 yards so you pretty much have to walk through the water. Fortunately it's not crazy deep so I could rock hop and shallow boot submersion. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Moderate amounts of blowdowns but easily traversed. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
No pups today. |
|
 | Bugs: |
A few practicing their dive bombing but not landing or biting YET! |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Lots of small trash (wrappers etc) found and carried out. |

 | Comments: |
Wet and muddy down low for the first 2 miles with one section essentially a stream (see water crossing note). First trail snow and ice is at the 1st switchback but avoidable for the most part until about 3700' at switchback 5 where it becomes more consistent. Rock spikes on for a sometimes slippery narrow monorail to the Cabin and summit where there is a mostly deep snow but too inconsistent, uneven and narrow monorails for snowshoes. And it's going quick based on what was there just a few days ago per a friend of mine. |
