Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Some tricky rock hopping on slightly submerged rocks on all crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots and lots of blowdowns on the SW Osceola trail and NW Tecumseh trail. All manageable for a small handsaw, but I didn’t bring mine, or have time. I wished I could’ve cut just a few that were hard to squeeze by. Lots of running and standing water on Greeley near the ponds and up high on Timber Camp trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Wouldn’t recommend East Osceola for them.
Bugs
Bugs: None
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a single micro-spike on NW Tecumseh trail and a pair of glasses at the ski area trailhead, brought them home and can mail. There’s also a fancy headlamp hanging on the sign but it looks waterlogged.

Comments
Comments: Some passing showers around noon today, but otherwise good hiking weather and views. This loop was 22.3 miles with 6,400 feet of gain and took me 9.5 hours. I like this route because it saves me an hour of driving down to Waterville ski area and I get to enjoy the solitude of closed Tripoli Road and the entire Greeley Ponds trail. The little remaining snow is disappearing fast, I was able to avoid most of it and bare boot all day. The blowdowns and water in the trail are plentiful, but the standard winter routes to the peaks are in good shape, might want spikes for descent, I just rock hopped. Timber Camp trail was an interesting side quest, I may return someday to bushwhack further because the trail seemed to keep going after the 0.9 miles on the map.
