Comments
Comments: Tuckerman Ravine was snow and ice free until about 3/4 mile in, after which there were scattered patches of the stuff. Past the Huntington Ravine Fire Road junction, Tuck's had consistent snow coverage, as did the below-treeline portion of Boott Spur Link (with the exception of a few random bare spots). The snow on Boott Spur Link was more solid than I expected given its lack of winter hiker traffic, although some parts were on the unstable side. Step off the solid footway and you'll probably sink up to your knees and possibly even your waist.

Above treeline, the trails were almost completely snow and ice free. The rocks, however, were wet and, at times, very slippery. Took a few spills that I was thankfully able to stop from becoming full-on falls. Wore microspikes for probably a mile of cumulative distance and barebooted the rest; snowshoes and crampons got a free ride.

Chilly, foggy, and rainy for most of the day on the Rockpile, with light wind above treeline. There were a few brief breaks in the clouds that gave way to some views, which was a pleasant surprise considering I wasn't expecting to get any views at all.
