Black flies were out on the ascent, not biting but annoying |

No snow on this hike. Dan Doan was wet particularly on lower section of logging road. Higher steeper section had wet sections but footing was okay for the most part. Saw one other hiker briefly at fire tower however that was only other person seen today. J Trail (AT) was in good shape, mostly dry until lower section. Started to rain on our road walk back to the car at Dan Doan trailhead. Unpleasant event but good day on Smarts. |
