 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Last crossing at Glen Ellis end was tricky - water was high at the end of day maybe due to snowmelt. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Many blowdowns on Mt Hight trail and Carter Dome trail. Wildcat ridge was a little better. Cleared a bunch but many more to go. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
|
|
 | Bugs: |
Lots of housefly type buzzing around, but not biting - just annoying. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Found a medium size fanny pack on the Mt Hight trail, near the Carter Dome end. Green Digital camo, contains cookware and some Swiss Miss packets. Left it at the AMC Carter Notch hut, will be taken to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center at the end of next week, or the week after (hut caretakers switch out on Thursday). |

 | Comments: |
Trail was dry and beautiful up to Carter Dome trail, then a little wetter, but darn good for May. Snow started above Carter-Moriah Junction. Bare booted to Mt Hight trail, then put on spikes. Could have done it earlier. Used spikes over to Carter Dome and for initial part of descent. Put them back on climbing up Wildcat Ridge trail, and kept them on for most of the ridge. Too lazy to take them off for some dry spots. Dry trail back down the south end to route 16. About 11.5 miles. |
