Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at Appalachia all day.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Ice - Breakable Crust, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow/Ice - Postholes, Snow/Ice - Small Patches

Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction 
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A few slightly swampy spots you can step over. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Blow downs at the 2 mile mark on Air Line and above the tent site spur on Valley Way.

Bugs: A few big flies on the top of Madison. 
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A single micro spike at the hut. 
 
Comments
Comments: The important stuff:
Air Line - Great shape. Barefooted all the way from the lot to Adams. A few blow downs but you can get around them. Still surprised by how nice the trail is right now.
Valley Way - Clear up to the tent site spur. A messy monorail from the spur to the hut.
Everything else - Great shape except a small monorail section on Gulfside near the hut.

Great day to be up high. Grab these two on a sunny day before they get crowded!
