Today was another day of a mixed bag of spring trail conditions. Sections with stable monorail is quickly softening, post holing was minimal but snow otherwise we’re talking the not quite slush kinda packed but still soft stuff so, kinda slick if you step right and requires some slow going in sections. The chimney was in all its glory- it’s been cooking in the sun so no ice, truly the highlight of the experience. Any water on rocks avoidable, as was any other parts of trail with some running water… nothing significantly muddy but parts of trail towards start were a bit mushy and otherwise some dry trail.. Bring your spikes or hiking crampons… bareboot would not be the mostly ideal for some sections which, they did come on & off some .
Happy Hiking 🥾
