Comments
Comments: Field and Tom well addressed by earlier hiker.
Until about 11:30 AM blustery, clouded, and cool. Stopped to adjust layers multiple times. Trail to Willey was continuation of hard to read monorail. Sometime the rail was raised, this was obvious, sometime flat which didn't really look different from surrounding snow. Here it was best guess where the foot tread was, mostly where you would expect, in the middle of the corridor. Tension filled walking, "When am I going to crash through ?" Sun cleared about noon, then open sunny areas on trail from Willey were more concerning.
Used snowshoes from Field to Tom which worked well but here the monorail looked like all the rest of the snow. No narrow raised balance beam.
I hadn't been to Tom for multiple years and now the trees have grown a couple feet and there is no view, disappointing.
