Comments
Comments: Not much to add to yesterday's report, primarily here for the L&F (see above).

Out and back journey to the Bonds. Ecstatic to get most of the way to Bondcliff before hitting snow, barebooted to the summit of Bond and then put on spikes hoping they'd keep me from sliding off the very narrow and barely there monorail. They didn't. Carried snowshoes. As Heat Lightning described...from the south side of Bond all the way out to West Bond (and back, LOL) is the special kind of hell only April (and early May) can provide. Not only is postholing inevitable, but when you bust through, the top is 1/2"-3/4" of shin-bruising ice crust from the sleet storm many weeks ago.

In a couple weeks I'd bet it will be significantly melted out and a lot less heinous...IMHO if you need this for May, I'd plan it later in the month.
