Lots of snow on the trail and in the woods above 3000 feet. Many 1-2 foot+ post holes where someone missed the packed portion of the trail or the monorail. Put snowshoes on at 3500 feet - they have better traction than microspikes and I could get off the accursed monorail occasionally. The Carriage Road below the Glencliff junction was broadly snow covered. Snowshoes would have worked here too, but spikes were OK. Used spikes all the way down the Snapper trail, too. |
