Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Mud - Significant, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable)
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings are running high at present with snow melt, but very much crossable with some thought. This should be taken into consideration if venturing Saturday or Sunday with 1"+ of rain forecasted with a week of 60's preceding it.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Noted some recent work - thanks J! A few blowdowns have emerged from their winter ice prison's that may be able to be removed now. They will be gone by Monday, unless someone gets to them sooner.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Inca and Coco did fantastic. There are large sections of good bullet blue ice that may not be too kind on some paws at this time

Comments
Comments: A FINE day in the forest was had for Armenian Remembrance Day. The red, apricot and blue flew at sunrise. Ten days ago, it was actively snowing, today - especially down in the first 1/2 mile - a sea of trout lillies are working their way up. A few trilliums also witnessed. More or less to the height of land, just before you drop into the final river crossing and then come up to the view, is barebootable with no real issues at all. After the crossing it's best to throw spikes on, its more efficient. Spring is without a doubt unofficially here, marked running open water just after said crossing, and again at 2700 feet. The spot at 2900 is still snow covered, but will very likely be open after this weekend. No rail up high, but you will know very quickly if you're not on the thread. It's that time of year, post hole roulette! Snowshoes would be advisable if taking the right summit loop. Personally, I did not take them today after seeing other trails around and knew conditions. Everything was solid enough and in more sections they would have been more cumbersome then beneficial.
