 | Comments: |
Overall good conditions today, able to bare boot up to Gibbs falls, but then wore spikes the rest of the day. Snow Track was solid up to Pierce. From Pierce to Eisenhower is mixed with some exposed slabs, snow in the trees and some standing water in sections. Once out of the spruce on the Eisenhower loop, the snow is gone and no spikes are needed here. From the top of Pierce over to Jackson is a mixed bag of slush, blowdowns, standing water and deep snow. The trail was difficult to find and follow ins spots due to multiple spruce blowdowns. From Jackson down to the junction with Mt Webster, spikes are needed, but snow track was pretty solid but getting soft with the rising afternoon temps. |
