Comments
Comments: Bare ground for a short bit at the start and before the Tram Summit building; snow and some ice most of the way. Traction mandatory for most of the hike; both rock spikes and stronger traction helpful. Due to the snow, ice, and steep pitch, we navigated the steep ascent and descent (think elevator shaft) with an abundance of caution. The ice and snow softened with the rising daytime temps but the surface remained firm. Only a few postholes in evidence. 5+ feet of snow in places.
