 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Town Line Trail: one small blowdown on the Jeffers Brook Shelter spur, easy enough to step over, could be cut with a handsaw; one medium-sized white birch down on the trail about 0.1 mi south of the shelter, would be better suited for a chainsaw (as a fairly tall person I was able to hop up, sit on the log, and spin my legs over to the other side). |

My first time up Blueberry! It was lovely. The trail is perhaps in the most ideal spring condition: no snow, no ice, very little mud. Almost all rock surfaces were dry. I went up to the true summit, then over to the northwest ledges that Ken mentioned in his book. Ate lunch there, then retraced my steps. On the descent, I slowed down to observe flora and fauna. The roadwalk was actually the most fruitful in terms of insect sightings--that's where the butterflies were today. I tacked on Town Line trail because I wasn't ready to stop frolicking in the sun yet. |
