Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking area has signs that say "No Parking, snow plow turn around". Do with that information what you will. We decided to park there due to the complete lack of snow both on the road, in the woods around the parking area, and on the forecast.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossing Mousley Brook was unremarkable, with an adequate path of dry rocks/logs
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few light blowdowns on the logging road portion, nothing particularly obstructive. A few large blowdowns at the summit next to the cabin and at the base of the firetower. Both still accessible.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a debit card on the trail, forgot to drop it off at the police station before leaving the area. I will make an attempt to find the owner but if unsuccessful, will destroy it as I figure they have already cancelled it and ordered a new one.

Comments
Comments: The first 2.66 miles of this trail are on a logging road. It is very wet in places, with one area that appears to be a redirect. The redirect is also very soggy, looking more like a runoff path than a trail. We kept our boots relatively dry until 2.6 miles in when it turned to hemlock forest with a steep, completely snow covered trail. The trail at this point has unavoidable water running down it and it is next to impossible to avoid it, even with good foot placement. Spikes were requisite at this point. I don't believe snowshoes would be beneficial and the only snow deeper than a few packed inches was the holes over running water.
