Comments
Comments: Considerable mud and wet leaves on BNT with patches of unstable monorail, which mostly turned to slush by my descent around 11am. Bare booted the first 4 miles, although beater spikes would have also been a good choice. Snowshoes went on about 1/4 mile from the cabin since there were a few inches of fresh snow. Was grateful to have them since there’s some large drifts near the cabin and considerable snow depth to the summit. Being the first on trail, was grateful for the new yellow blazes on this section! BNT could use some fresh blazes as it is difficult to follow at times.
