Comments
Comments: A nice windless, overcast, warmish day for this hike with varying trail conditions all along the way and good views all around. I put on Exo rock spikes shortly after starting and wore them all the way back to the car. Airline in the woods was a mix of bare trail, hardpack with some ginormous ice flows, one a very nice blue. I bypassed the ice flows. On up to Adams was ice rime and snow dust covered rocks and some tricky ice patches near the top. Gulfside to the hut was mostly bare and Osgood up to Madison was entirely dry. Valley way was mostly hardpack, monorailish in some spots and a mix of wet, hardpack, slightly slushy at the lower el. I carried crampons but they never left the pack. Ran into only three other hikers, one which was heading over to Monroe. Good trail conditions overall for spring and I'm glad to get these off my April list.
