The trail was very smooth and well packed most of the way. There were a few drifted sections up high that had some soft snow. There were a few icy spots, most could be avoided. The first section of the trail, right after it leaves the parking area, was very icy. We wore micorspikes the entire day, but that first stretch of trail was the only section where I definitely would have slipped without them.
Beautiful day. The Northern Presis were clear on the hike up, when we got to Moriah's summit the clouds had just started to obscure the very tops of the Presis. They were almost completely socked in on the hike down. |
