| Comments: |
Carried snowshoes but didn't need them, only a very short section of drifting up near the South Kinsman summit. Some extensive sheets of boilerplate ice on different spots of Mt. Kinsman trail, but easily worked around. Blue ice under a light snow cover in many spots, just need to pay attention on the short steep pitches on the ridge especially.
Very little snow at the bottom of the Mt. Kinsman trail, but plenty of thin ice cover. If it rains tomorrow the trail will be dramatically different, and we'd recommend crampons until more snow falls. Great views today in all directions! |
