Comments
Comments: We spotted cars and climbed North Twin. All of us started in spikes. I switched to Flex Alp snoeshows after the Little River crossing and by the summit one other of our party had also switched. After South Twin another member switched to snowshoes. There was some drifting on the North Twin Spur and down to the hut on the Twinway. We stayed in snowshoes until the new Gale River Trail flats. The last half mile of the Gale RIver Trail is very icy. Spikes were necessary. The cross country ski trails had some ice and alot of bare ground back to the car. It was nice to sit in the sun at Galehead Hut. We were treated to a sneaker brigade of 4 hearty hikers using cotton socks for gaiters. Oh but did they ever have nice cameras.

We had hoped to be in the Presidentials but with the wind the Twins were a great choice. Great views all day and nice light in the afternoon as clouds formed over the summits. Thanks to Dave, Karen and Bill for a fine day.
