After a full morning at the Skiway snowboarding, I headed for the trailhead. I was pretty happy that when I headed up, there was a nice flat footbed, perfect for snowshoeing. Unfortunately, 2 parasitic postholers were booting up at the same time. I had a nice track to the outlook, then to the official summit. On my descent, of course, the postholers eventually caught up with me (they were still heading up as they were spending tons of energy trashing the trail). Oh well, it was a tough descent. Given the warm temps and postholes 6-8" or more, the trail is not super fun right now. Listen, there are plenty of snowmobile trails in the area you can posthole to your heart's content... why wreck a hiking trail for everyone else?????? |
