0/2 Mt Pierce. Summits are optional. Attempt one ended with me in the back of a police crusier driven to the Highland center after losing my transmission and blocking Mt Clinton Road and 302. A huge thanks to the very helpful Carroll Police officer that called in a tow and gave me a ride even showing me the great room with a fireplace to wait. Attempt two after very pleasant hike to just before the Webster Cliff Trail i lost trail and encountered waist deep spruce traps and trail wasnt to be found. After discussing this with a fellow hiker even though gaia had us spot on trail we turned back and started to follow 4 other hikers trying to find their way. Two of the four promptly fell in chest deep wells and they were 6ft tall. We decided to call it. Sometimes its just not worth it. Both of us agreed we didnt want this to end in a S.A.R call on Mt Pierce of all mountians.Had some great conversation on the way down and glad to finally cross paths and meet Diane, Hank Williams, and Riley! |
