Trail is nicely packed. Everyone but one fellow was in snowshoes today. Snowshoes made the hike a breeze. Steep pitches on summit cone were all ramps, minimal ice, very easy to walk up and down. Views were good at the summit, with the Presidents all dressed in white.
Please wear your snowshoes to keep this trail nice. Snowshoes held well even descending on the lower steep pitches since the trail hasn't been rototilled up.
Since the temps were warm the snow balled up on my MSR Evo's while my hiking buddy had fewer issues with his MSR Lightnings.
Nice day to be out. |
