OK - Rocket21's recent report is spot-on. Actual hiking trail has since been very packed out. I took the snowmo trail for descent so I could easily jog. Decent amount of snowmachine traffic - I saw 6-10 machines. Considered skinning/snowboarding but had a problem with one of my skins so just decided to snowshoe it. Snow starting to soften up. Unfortunately, on my descent, a small group of barebooters were churning up the trail. This will make things pretty rough as the temps rise. And I quote rocket21: "If you prefer Microspiking, you can take the snowmobile trail from the parking lot and avoid trashing the hiking trail."       |
