White beats fit pro earpods. Case w/ earpods in them was found in ski tracks somewhere around half a mile up the hiker trail portion. I noticed them soon after I passed two skiers and a snowboarder. I left them on top of the post at the entrance to the hiking trail (brown image of a hiker walking with a lower wooden sign marked Coppermine trail). The post was slippery and not fully level so there is a chance they will fall to the ground but I couldn't think of a better place to leave them. |

Well packed monorail [that is not monorail] trail due to previous snowshoers and skiers. Several inches of unconsolidated snow on the edges of the monorail [that is not monorail] No ice, able to bare boot the whole way although snowshoes on the way down would help prevent chopping up the trail and off-monorail [that is not monorail] postholes. Trail looks excellent for ski touring (several skiers were out today as well as a couple bikers). First a bit of a road walk down a couple private roads before entering the hiking trail. Steady gentle incline feels like you're barely ascending despite accumulating over 1,000 feet of elevation gain. Beautiful views of the icy amphitheater at the falls themselves. With the sustained cold weather there is a decent amount of snow blanketing much of the icy structures. |
