Comments
Comments: Microspikes on Crawford Path to the alpine zone..hard packed sidewalk. Heavy drifting above there had us in snow shoes pretty quick. Low visibility, winds, and some snow made us choose Jackson over Eisenhower. Chilly with flat light going over Pierce..once past the summit we were greeted with 4-8 inches of nice fresh snow..smashed up by barebooters but still a great snowshoe descent to the hut. I swear there was a guy in jeans and a chamois shirt that was expecting hut to be open.

Webster Cliff trail to Jackson a winter wonderland. Most snow we have seen all year. Sadly a couple of barebooters trashed the soft packed snow in many places across the ridge where at best the route could be called broken out,,,not packed at all. To their credit these determined guys made it to jackson but wow..that must have been some work. Enjoyed the soft if uneven footing along the ridge..lots of fun. Ascent to Jackson had a little ice but snowshoes up to the task. Windy on the summit with limited visibility.. not really that cold though. Jackson branch a well packed sidewalk back to the road. We used snowshoes down to the jct for traction but this peak easily done in spikes at present..all the snow is on the ridge. Looked like the ceiling had lifted a bit by afternoon and thought maybe we should have started at Jackson in the morning..oh well.. Fun day in some winter weather and fresh snow with Valerie today
