I only needed microspikes for the way up Red Hill Trail. It is very packed down and clearly a very popular trail. I came down Cabin Trail, and put snowshoes on near the top. The top half of Cabin Trail is an actual trail, and the bottom half is a snowmobile trail. For the top half, I started it with microspikes but would posthole every 5 or 10 steps. I would suggest snowshoes for that upper bit of Cabin Trail. All in all, it was fast walking due to the popularity of these trails! |
